EXCERPT FROM TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SIMULTANEOUS AND CONSECUTIVE TRANSLATION SERVICES RENDERED BY MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION


Booths must be located in such a way that speakers, blackboards and overhead projector screens are clearly visible by interpreters.
Working hours cannot exceed 6 (six) hours a day, inclusive all breaks, except the lunch break provided it is not shorter than 90 minutes. Any work longer than 6 hours shall be considered as overtime. The excess of time up to half an hour shall not be deemed an overtime, whereas any other excess of time shall be charged as overtime; every hour started shall be calculated as a full hour.

Number of interpreters shall depend on the duration of a conference and the number of languages in use:
for conferences lasting up to 4 (four) hours a day, with interpretation into two languages (Serbian and a foreign language – two-way translation), two interpreters shall be required;
for conferences lasting between 4 (four) and 6 (six) hours a day, with interpretation into two languages (Serbian and a foreign language – two-way translation), three interpreters shall be required, i.e four if the duration is over 6 (six) hours a day;
for conferences with interpretation into three or four languages (Serbian and two or three foreign languages - multiple-way translation), two interpreters shall be required for each respective language (booth);
for conferences with interpretation into five or more languages, three interpreters shall be required for each booth; however, the total number of interpreters could be lower, depending of the language combinations and subject to negotiable agreement.
Recording of interpretation is subject to Copyright Law. The organizers and users must obtain a prior consent from the interpreters to record their translation, in which case their fee shall be augmented by 30%. The interpreters shall be obliged to review and edit their recorded translations free of charge.
Interpreters are entitled to net remuneration for the whole duration of the conference; parts of days shall be reckoned as full days. Payments of fees shall be executed on the last day of the conference, or exceptionally not later than 5 (five) days upon the completion of the assignment.
For assignments outside their place of residence, interpreters are entitled to travel expenses and per diems, i.e. full board and lodging in a hotel of the same category as the one in which other participants of the conference are accommodated. For travels of duration longer than 6 hours, interpreters are entitled to a manque-a-gagner amounting to 50% of the daily fee for each day spent on travel.
